In
1996, she went to San Antonio to be a member of the SSND Formation
Community. She also joined the faculty at Assumption Seminary and
served as adjunct professor at Oblate School of Theology, San Antonio,
Texas. Eighteen months ago Sister Addie Lorraine became the province's
postulant director. In 2001, she joined the full-time faculty at
the Oblate School of Theology. Sister Addie Lorraine will continue
her association with the Oblate School of Theology through web-based
classes and serving as a guest lecturer.
Sister María Elena Ferrer-López joined the School
Sisters of Notre Dame in 1966. Born in Havana, Cuba, she came to
New Orleans, La., in 1961.
Sister Maria Elena earned both her bachelor's degree in education
and master's degree in religious education from University of Dallas.
She has served as a teacher, principal, and director of religious
education in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
From 1990-2001, Sister Maria Elena served first as Director of Religious
Education at Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe and then as pastoral
associate at St. Edward Parish, both in Dallas, Tex. At the time
of her election, she had been serving as Vocation Director for the
Dallas province.
Sister Mary Delbert Weisensel entered the
congregation from her home in Sun Prairie, Wis., in 1956. Holding
a bachelor's degree from Mount Mary College and master's degrees
in reading and administration from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa,
Sister Mary Delbert has served as a teacher and administrator from
pre-kindergarten to high school in schools in Illinois, Wisconsin,
and Arizona. In 1988, she transferred to the Dallas province.
In 2006, she celebrated her 50th Jubilee as a School Sister of Notre
Dame. |
